It’s a two handed removal.
You have to press the red in to release the springs, then move the line and both hands as a unit to slide the line off the snout

Do you have power to the OBD port ? If not, it's probably the fuse (it's called something along the lines of "A/C and diagnostic" ) I dont really see how the MAF, crank sensor or cam sensor could have issues only when the engine is warm. If you can get the obd working first thing I would c...

Comes back to maintenance which we often forget to get to other than oil changes. Also buying cars where the maintenance is unknown ti makes sense to 'Stage 0' the car so you have a known base line to start from. Finding and using quality parts is a challenge these days though! Is the passenger side getting no heat as well? If not t hen there are a few issues potentially on the cards in terms of the servo motors and blend door servo.
