Re: Volvo v70 2.5t low compression in One cylinder
Next step is a "wet" compression test of the affected cylinder. Pour a spoon of oil into the cylinder, so that it can potentially seal worn rings, and re-test. If the compression comes up, rings are bad, if not, suspect valve. To repair burnt Valve, it is just a head gasket job, r&R of...

Shout out to Bridgewater (NJ) Volvo
Bridgewater Volvo did two driver's airbag safety recall replacements for me. In and out in 35 min.
First appointments of the day. No hassles and prompt service. Can't ask for more, but I lost my nice "R" leather steering wheel center boss.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I replaced my oil cap gasket (which was pretty hard) and upper engine mount (rubber insert moved freely inside). Now I'm thinking I need to do the strut brace mounts as they seemed pretty soft–or is this normal? Also thinking of swapping out the rear shocks. Does anyone know if I need a spring comp...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Yes. You still can take the whole assembly out w/o compressor, but changing the shock would require using a spring compressor. Thank you vtl with my project; this may help https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=91242 https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/download/file.p...

Rear struts and spring replacement with photos
I picked up some OEM struts for $100 for all four, someone had bought them for his 4C car and had them on for a week and decided to get the correct ones, I then purchased new Lesjofors standard springs for the front and rear and installed them today. There seemed to be a bit of difficulty from some ...

Re: 06 XC70 - Recommended spark plug frequency?
I seem to recall Volvo ignition can be finicky. I’d stick with what FCP shows as the Volvo OEM. IMO 100k for plugs should be ok, coils at 200k.
At 120k and 20 year old I’d focus more on belts and fluids (steering, brakes and drivetrain)
