Re: Another key fob rebuild post?
All done! We did 3 new keys. In addition to this, for my original switchblade that I broke the transponder for, we re-coded a new Id48 chip so that switchblade is now functional again. All in all, it took a little under an hour to do 3x keyless entry programming and 4x immobilizer transponders (ID48...

Re: 2003 CV axle install.......the easy way!
Blacklab, excellent writeup. This photo is especially outstanding (but they all are very good): https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/download/file.php?id=70189&t=1 That Mopar is a Challenger? '68ish? 318, 340, gasp 426 or gasp 440? Discussion continued here . I was going to say the same. Th...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Today I discovered my S60 needs a replacement starter. Thanks to RobertDIY's video for helping me easily diagnose it: https://youtu.be/nednzv5S1Uk?t=162 Have a real good look at the teeth on your flywheel while you have the starter out. May be a good idea to have someone rotate the crank while you ...

Re: XC70 lumpy idle/lack of power/bad fuel economy nightmare.
The car idles like ass , seems to lack power for a 200hp car, and has horrifying fuel economy. 1. Complete PCV replaced (it was inflating the glove). Confirmed the throttle body is the recall/replaced one. … 4. The two non-return valves on the right of the engine, part of EVAP or w/e, both original...

Replacement screws for OEM P2 Cross bars
Just wanted to share this quickly. These darn screws are not easy to find in the correct length, pitch, head/drive size. Granted, the oem screws are security T30’s & these are standard T30’s, but your original tool will work for both. I have spares. If anyone needs one just pay shipping or buy f...

Re: P2 Remote start option
It is always interesting to search the forum and find such great insight. I'm now investigating silicone pad block heaters... I run the Kats 24150’s on everything. Wire wheel the bottom/center of your oil pan, adhere pad, then seal off the edges with red high temp sealant. I route my cord end...

Re: Shopping for new rims for 2008 S60 2.5T
Some of the P2’s came with 18’s from the factory - yes, they should fit. Might have a little rub at full lock though. There’s been a lot of wheel talk over the years so should be plenty of old threads to peruse. I have a couple pictures of 17” Thors next to 18” Atlantis and also the Atlantis’s on my...

Re: Vague steering wheel
So it does or doesn’t have impressive power?
Most likely, worn out inner/outer tie rods or excessively worn ball joints. If it’s been neglected it could easily be both.
Maybe I missed it, but does it pull one way or another? Does that pull change when accelerating or braking?

Re: Maybe a transmission issue?
I think your suspicion of a collapsed motor mount is probably pretty likely. Although, anytime you are on the throttle & then let off, the front suspension gets loaded a bit also. Just saying have a real close look at all 5 engine mounts but also inspect the moving pieces that make up your suspe...

Re: Maybe a transmission issue?
The round hydraulic engine mounts (X2 in P2’s) would be lowest on my list of culprits. I do think it’s important to check them though. Here’s a couple effective ways to check them. Use a jack & 2x4 under the oil pan & gently lift the engine up. If you can hear slurping and gurgling noises em...
