Consider the Autophix ES610 scan tool for SRS reset. This scan tool is only for Volvo cars, but will reset the SRS fault and others. It worked for me and much cheaper and easier than getting VIDA set up.

Re: Cooler Oil Hose O-Ring Replacement
That O-ring does not have the 'look' of a typical O-ring sized for sliding fit. Perhaps the dealer supplied the O-ring for transmission cooler? Does it fit the groove width with a little gap? It kind of looks like the cross section diameter is too large for this application. That would make the outs...

Re: Fuel pump has a crack, which replacement?
It is a pain (in my opinion) to change these fuel pumps on the P2 because of the two sump tank has a fuel pickup snaked through from one side to the other. A good reason to buy only original Volvo pumps. The 850 may have the same arrangement - I don't know. Volvo had a recall on early P2 for cracks ...

Re: 07 V70 rough/slow start ECM-5000
Good practice is to examine and replace any crumbling wire loom under the hood. It really helps protect wires and looks good too. If you do this replacement, only use wire loom rated for 275 F or above and use good electrical tape like 3M Super 88. Easy project and rewarding in reduced electrical pr...

Re: Coolant loss V50i 2005
The underbody cover is called the splash pan. The transmission fluid can be tested (Blackwell is one test company) for coolant and other contaminants. About $20 and you will also find out the transmission condition. These coolant leaks typically only leak when the engine is running and the cooling s...

Re: 06 XC70 Exhaust manifold leak question
The external wire wrap is to reinforce the accordion flex tube. It does have some internal pressure to contain. heat transfer is likely better without the wire wrap because of better air flow. The wire wrap must not be very necessary for pressure, if the originals survive without the wire. The SC gu...

Re: What do you think?
Check the battery age and battery cable condition. These cars must have top condition battery to function properly. Confirm the charging system is strong. Obtain a code reader for Volvo or the full Vida Dice setup.

Re: Any tips to get lower oil line off the radiator?
All plastic fasteners are sounding better. At least until it gets cold.

Re: 2001 V70XC - 200,000 Miles Makeover
It may be the tall screw has bottomed on the full thread form in the hole. Do we know if this screw should be longer than the others? What I am trying to say is the screw bottomed out in the threaded hole and the last two threaded 'tapped' the incomplete threads to reach full depth. If this happened...

Re: Coronavirus Thread
Interesting thoughts, Cees Klumper. Some calculations I have been making, show maybe a slight trend that Italy has a reduction in spread of the virus since they locked down the country. This reduction of spreading is not dramatic and only appeared after 7 days. This makes some sense, based on the av...
