I do not know the weight of a wheel, but more trivia - locomotive wheels have tires. Here is how to replace the tires:

Southern Oklahoma has the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge with a herd of buffalo. Many year ago we were visiting a remote area of the park in the winter. We heard a noise in the distance.
