Re: V70 2.4T - Timing Belt Service Interval - how far can I push it?

Here is what I have heard can happen: Water pump or tensioner fail and the timing belt is torn up. Before the engine stops, the interference valves kiss the piston tops and you have massive damage. Or the timing belt can fail on it's own and the result is the same. Or the aux. belt can fail, wrap up...

Re: Self Brake Bleeder

I like the hand vacuum pumps like this one.

Mityvac is also good, but I have broken the pump handle on the plastic Mityvac pump.
Also good for vacuum leak checks, vacuum diaphragm tests, and sampling fluids.

Make sure you have the big Torx to get the vvt hub bolts off and don’t overtighten the cam lock bolts. Just ginger tight Note: a...

Re: 2005 V70 Floor Access Cover/Hatch

Your custom hatch idea sounds great. Perhaps a veneer over cabinet grade plywood base?

The more cylinders, the smoother the engine runs.
Exactly.

What a sudden change due to events though - from building V12s to not building cars at all.

Re: 850 I'm going back to school

I have built about 40 feet of wood shelving out of 8 foot 2 x 4s and plywood shelves. These are 2 foot deep, 8 foot tall and 8 foot long. Shelves have supports around outer edges and across centers of 2x4s. Bolted frame using 1/4 inch bolts. They are strong enough for most anything but engine blocks...
