Re: Replacing exhaust manifold and gaskets on 96 R. Likelihood of breaking studs?
There is art and science of broken bolt extraction. I expect there are many U Tube videos. It is not fun, but satisfying when successful. Best to avoid breaking the bolt stud in the beginning. Lots of your favorite spray (PB Blaster has many fans), heat applied, good wrench fit, and most important i...

Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
When breaking down moving or other boxes you want to reuse, cut the tape at the seams and fold them on the original fold lines. They will now lay flat for storage. You can tape over the old tape when you make up new boxes. Commercial type tape guns are great tools.

Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
The round chainsaw files work well to sharpen chains. Just be careful to hold the file steady at the same angle as the original edge. You can sharpen a chain by hand with the little effort in just a few minutes. The electric rotary file is not needed.
