Re: '02 v70 ATF (To change or not to change)
My suggestion is to drain from the bottom drain hole as much as will pour out (about 3.6 quarts). Refill with Mobil 3309 in the same measured amount. Drive normally for about 100 miles. The drain, fill and drive plan should reduce any shock of fluid change on the transmission. Do not use MaxLife - i...

Re: 1987 Volvo 240 Wagon
More ideas: Pull all the spark plugs and see if any are black. Black means not firing or getting too much fuel. Check the plug gaps - need about 0.030 inches. All plugs should look the same or there is some problem. Check the plug wires. Are they frayed, oil socked, or stiff, or cracking? Then repla...

Re: Volvo/cars humor
What a great community!
Old car info, humor, interesting opinions, and grammar lessons!
No wonder I visit at least once a day. (Also, I have little else to do.)

Re: Bulb indicator light - why?
I have had troubles with rear lights on my 2001 V70. The bulbs need to be the same brand with similar resistance. The bulb holders can get bent contacts and the light housing itself can get broken plastic tabs that hold the bulb holders. All can lead to intermittent or poor electrical contacts and b...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
P80GLT,
You have such a nice, well kept Volvo. I am sure it is appreciated at all the shows.

Re: Bulb indicator light - why?
I would say any time a wack will fix the light issue, you have a bad connection.
But it is satisfying for a little while. It usually fixes the temperature and fuel level on my 240 Volvo.

This is a long report on my experiences with drain and fill of my Aisin AW50-50/51 transmission. This report may be helpful for other considering a drain and fill process. My 2001 V70 with Aisin AW50-50/51 automatic 5 speed had a rebuilt transmission installed at 168K miles. It was filled with Mobil...

Re: 960 runs great needs starter fluid
When was the fuel filter last changed? Fuel pressure should rise immediately when power turned on. What is fuel pressure at fuel rail?

Re: Does anyone know what this part is called?
The scale of the photo fooled me. I just looked at my 2001 V70 T5. It is a breather. The yellow cap has a little play to move up and down.
Sorry to mislead.
