I used to work for a shop that built liquid nitrogen handling equipment. Because of the extreme low temperature (-320 F), all the pipes had to be stainless steel. Thought of another thing - some of the tube chassis were made of aluminum. Some were made of titanium. Just enough metal to do the job. Some of the chassis were pressurized with a gas, with a pressure gauge and switch. If a crack formed, pressure was lost, a warning light would go off - STOP!
