Re: How to test a battery cable?

ZionXIX wrote: 16 Feb 2024, 07:52 It sounds like it's cheaper and easier to just replace or rebuild the cable.
You dont have too many Scots down in TX, do you?

Noooooooooooooo.

By the time I lug a battery, a headlight, and clips to rig a junkyard tester, I would have clicked on Ancor wire, lugs, and made my own.

Ohh, lessee.... The G NW - WA, OR, ID (spuds), Western MT, Cascadia, and much of British Columbia. RMW - Everything from Denver to central UT and the ID-WA border. Northern Rockies - Generally Wyoming mountains and N/NW from there. Colorado is generally Central Rockies. Then it seems Canadians have ...

Re: How to test a battery cable?

I have seen/read stuff on this, but how do you test a battery cable to know if it is good? As anyone who knows and has removed one of these cables, it is a major pain as Volvo routes the +ve cable though a couple of metal ties that have to be removed, but then also through the main wiring harness a...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Finally took 5 minutes to quiet down the rattle-y tailgate on her 855 over the weekend. It always bugged me when I drove it, and I noticed that the striker had very little, to no bushing on it. The Tailgate would lift ever-so-slightly, and thus the rattle. 5 minutes and a short piece of black nylon ...

Re: How do we know our airbags still work on 1998 or so?

I've recently seen a 1993 240, 1993 850 and 1994 850 with bags deployed properly, as well as a 2000 S70 with SIPSbags and the main airbags deployed. I trust them more than any Takata airbag! My 1994 has a sticker in the door jam for 2004, 1998 for 2008, and 2004 for 2014 - but Volvo apparently exten...

Re: How do we know our airbags still work on 1998 or so?

Hello again, Hey thanks for all the replies, very helpful. My main concern is not that the bag will not open, I could put up with that because I drive safely and slowly (ha ha) and take back roads most of the time going 25mph. My main concern is the material used to make the bag. Will it have crack...
