Re: 95 Volvo 850 T-5 Killed Another ECT

That’s why I link to the Volvo glossary in my signature, and now I have to figure out why it’s broken I have been backfilling threads with part numbers for about 2 years now, because there is no other way to make things searchable Volvo calls things crazy names , but numbers remain pure and searchab...

Re: AC Cuts out after about 15 minutes....

On some of the compressors there is also a thermal breaker that engages if the compressor gets too hot... On the off chance you find the gap within spec.

Re: Loss of coolant summary, please.

You can use coolant gas testers to check for head gasket leaks and you may be able to borrow/rent a coolant system pressure tester. Be careful not to over pressurise the system as you can do more harm than good. If the leaks are not obvious then the harder ones to notice are: 1) Any coolant pipe con...

Any hose over 10 years old should likely be replaced, if only for the fact it will be going soon at ...

Re: Timing Belt &water Pump Time...

If it's similar to an 850 the worst part of the job is the T45 into the tensioner or roller or whatever it goes into. The wp wasn't that big of a deal, I don't remember being tough, I can't remember if I used some sort of sealant on the bolts though, a permatex of sorts. Maybe. https://www.youtube.c...

Re: Timing Belt &water Pump Time...

Coming from an S40, you sure that water pump fits your 98 NA? I'd probably use it if it does, or buy a Hepu if it doesn't. Front cam seals i still never touch unless they are leaking, regardless of mileage. If you do, they must be Corteco (or Volvo). Tensioner (is yours hydraulic or mechanical? 98 i...

Re: Timing Belt &water Pump Time...

Aisin is the brand of water pump to buy. Expect 25k life out of others

I would use a Conti belt, only , too.
