There is a spring seat at the bottom that gets loose. 16 or 18 mm wrench. Make sure the guide pin is inthe hole. If it is loose, back it off, wire brush m antiseize it heavily , reinstall.

Have you compared the old belt and the new belt side by side? It is possible to get the wrong belt.

Agreed. I put the belt over / around everything before slipping it over the lose idler pulley last, and then pushed the pulley with belt into position.

I don’t think we have ever seen heater hoses fail except from abrasion or chafe. I’ve replaced two setson pm cars and donated the used ones that are still in service

Does the fan come on at all? Ever? I'd check that. My 850 overheated when the module / relay piece on the back of the radiator failed, and the fans never came on.

. Turn on the AC and see if the fans work? If you've gone through the trouble of changing the radiator and water pump the thermostat should also be replaced. I had an odd problem with the temp gauge with the 230K 98 S70 T5 going to the max then returning to normal. Turned out someone didn't installe...
