Re: Volvo OEM Axle ID-ing

Here are pictures of front axles from a 1999 V70 non-turbo automatic. Look for the white stickers on the cylindrical parts. Failing that, check the shafts for rust. I put a cheap aftermarket axle on my Mercedes and the shaft had a coating of rust in five years while the original, like these Volvo on...

Re: Timing Belts, Luxury and Tears...

Have you compared the old belt and the new belt side by side? It is possible to get the wrong belt.
Congratulations on getting the garage. As you say, it a great relief to be able to close the door and rethink your

Re: Falling out of love with my P80 Volvo...

I don’t think we have ever seen heater hoses fail except from abrasion or chafe. I’ve replaced two setson pm cars and donated the used ones that are still in service

Re: 1998 V70 Coolant? Overheating? Something?

Does the fan come on at all? Ever? I'd check that. My 850 overheated when the module / relay piece on the back of the radiator failed, and the fans never came on.

Re: 1998 V70 Coolant? Overheating? Something?

. Turn on the AC and see if the fans work? If you've gone through the trouble of changing the radiator and water pump the thermostat should also be replaced. I had an odd problem with the temp gauge with the 230K 98 S70 T5 going to the max then returning to normal. Turned out someone didn't installe...
