Re: How do I get the armrest cover off? (2007 XC70)
SO tonight I decided it was "do or die" time for my eBay vinyl armrest cover replacement. I fired up VIDA and studied the (wholly inadequate) diagrams and then started going at it. Turns out that the armrest top (just the top, not the cupholder) is three distinct parts. After removing the ...

Chinese Clone DICE + VIDA 2015 (Solved)
Hi all, Everyone has probably noticed me spamming the forums with VIDA/DiCE and VDASH questions. :-/ This is because, having a working VIDA 2014D installation and having already used VDASH to program a key fob, and having successfully installed VIDA 2015, I felt comfortable investing in a 3-day &quo...

Re: ATF flush question
I recently acquired an '07 XC70 to replace my '02. The tranny on the '02 had been maintained with regular transmission fluid services and when I bought it at ~100k fluid was pink. I kept up replacements every 25k miles but nonetheless by 170k it was feeling iffy, even with B4 servo upgrade and retra...

Re: Old style separate key fob and key with '04 V70 question
I don't see why it *wouldn't* work, but what do I know. I just made my own and finished programming it about a week and a half ago (done with VIDA 3-day subscription) for an '07 XC70. It's two separate pieces as far as the car is concerned. You program the fob/buttons part of it and you can lock/unl...

Re: PCV time means question time!
FWIW anecdotally, I've done this three times now on three separate V70/XC70 cars, each time with the $150ish FCP Euro kit (includes the rubber hose going into the top of the head, but not the larger hose assembly that apparently boosts the kit up over $400). I have never needed the larger, more comp...

Re: No horn no audio controls on the steering wheel.
With luck maybe some wires/connectors just got pulled out behind the airbag. Find a video on replacing the steering angle sensor, it'll show you the lay of the land behind the airbag including the connectors for those controls and horn that are oriented such that they could well have been pulled out...

Re: 02 Volvo S60 Failed The Glove Test
So after I typed in this reply, I discovered that the original thread dates to 2019. BUT someone new has asked about it. IF you have the Volvo inline 5 cylinder engine, the glove should be pulled down at least a little bit against the baffles under your oil cap. If it is not being pulled down, the t...

Re: Right rear under car clanging noise
Hi all, update: Got a low mileage prop shaft locally from a salvage yard and put it in today. Noise is gone. Well, at first there was a new noise. :-D Turns out that over the same 200k miles that caused my center support bearing to sag to almost nothing, the shielding had also sagged something like ...

Re: Cannot get crank pulley off
I've done multiple timing belts on the Volvo 5 engines and have never needed to take the crank pulley off. Most of the time I don't even have t mess with the cams and timing marks, even on the VVTs. I get a silver sharpie and make marks: - Cams to cam cover - Old belt silver cam mark to silver cam m...

Quick lower front end tip: axle seals
Hi all, Just had my lower front end apart this weekend to replace all the stuff preventatively on both sides: control arms, ball joints, sway bar links, tie rods, hubs/bearings, and of course fresh bolts all around. Just in case someone else is doing to do any work where they have to pull things apa...
