Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I did this on both my 855 @210k and my xc90 @90k. Funny enough the 855 transmission fluid was only mild discolored with 210k miles on original fluid. My xc90 @90k miles was like pumping out liquid charcoal. I buy the Aisin Warner fluid from FCP in cases of 12L.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
5 cylinder reassembly update.
This is as clean as she's gonna get. No amount of brake cleaner, shop rags and razor blades can get this any cleaner.

Today's milestone. Cylinder head is in place and torqued down. No broken bolts today. 36 inch breaker bar made quick work for the last torque step.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Having just removed all the exhaust bolts, that is most certainly an exhaust stud. There may be enough tension across the exhaust manifold to prevent a leak. You would need to move the exhaust shield to see. Could also send a bore scope camera to visualize the studs.

Ok, I couldn't get this to load the other day and I thought it was a scam. Today I can see it all and it's beautiful. There are even climate control DTCs!

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Abscate, when installing the cams and cam cover, do you try and seat the cam seals during assembly or leave them loose and tap them in after the cover is bolted down? I cheat a bit here, and install the seals on the VVT from the rear end of the cam, carefully seat it into the lower cam cover half a...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
After yesterday's cam, cover and timing belt install. This morning was productive. I spent way too much time blindly threading a banjo bolt underneath the xc90 intake. Then got spent even more time getting the serpentine belt on. Even with the tensioner fully open its a nightmare. Then re installed ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Today is the day people. The xc90 lives! Finish assembling all the little bits in the engine bay. Changed the oil and filter. Added 1 gallon of coolant and started the engine. She idled well. The cams are a little clacky but I'm hoping that will iron out as oil makes its way through there. I took a ...

Re: Master Fastener list for White Blocks?
yes, a M7x30 would have a thread that is 30 mm long and had a nominal diameter of 7mm Quick OT question: how are american bolts measured? I never really understood how that works. The problem is some fasteners can be equal length and diameter but have different thread pitch. Coarse thread vs fine t...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
That's some impressive mpg. My xc90 refuses to go past 20 mpg on the highway.
