Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I've had no problems with the heater hose bulkhead junctions in our cars. Never leaked a drop there either. The issue I've had is that you need to make sure you get ALL of the old spacers and o-rings out of the bulkhead fitting before you try and install the new stuff. Also, be wary of a different s...

Re: Volvo 850 GLT - Electrical power loss while driving
Sounds more like something is "loose", and excessive engine movement is causing the problem. (Based on your description)
Is the battery secured?
Engine mounts good? Grounds all tight and solid?

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Pretty sure the externals are the flywheel to torque converter bolts? The hub only goes on one way, the crankshaft splines have an index which will match the hub Those look more like flexplate to crank bolts. (The qty also jives). The converter to flexplate bolts are internal Torx and there are onl...

Re: Volvo 850 GLT - Electrical power loss while driving
The radio ACC power does go through the ignition switch via the X+ overload relay. At least if I'm reading the wiring diagram correctly. So it does make sense that the radio would shut off. Fuse 7 is the battery power and fuse 32 is the accy power for the radio. Now why it fully resets and asks for ...

Re: 97' 850 LPT Running Rich
The blue-plugged sensor should be your IAT. How does that connector look?
Have you checked the FP regulator? Should be down low behind the engine.

Re: 97' 850 LPT Running Rich
The piece on the fuel rail is the damper, not the pressure regulator. The pressure regulator is down low behind the engine, like I mentioned. https://turbochuckcom.ipage.com/webimages/projects/97%20Volvo%20855/Engine%20Rebuild/FPR.jpg There is no temp sensor in the air inlet. One of those sensors is...

Re: 97' 850 LPT Running Rich
The IAT is referred to as the "Outer Air Temperature Sensor" for the ECU, and yes you have the general understanding correct of the function of those sensors. That sensor may not throw a code, but if it's registering -40* there is most likely a problem with it. If you unplug it and test it...

Re: Oil capacity of rebuilt engine
On an oil change, I use 6.1 qts. They say 5.6 qts "without oil cooler" and the capacity of the cooler/lines is just under 1 qts (0.95 qts)
If everything is dry (as in the oil cooler, lines, etc was also drained) you're looking at closer to 6.5 qts to get to capacity.
