Re: 850 R Oil cooler system upgrade (aftermarket)

I did the RN oil pan swap on my 850. There are some changes that need to be made to the water pipe on the back of the engine, and some fiddling with turbo coolant/oil hoses. I wouldn't be worried about the oil cooler inside of the radiator failing. It's kind of a rarity, and even less so if you just...

Re: 850 R Oil cooler system upgrade (aftermarket)

I have some stuff on my project thread over on SwedeSpeed. I'd have to dig back on what I actually used. A suggestion from Will on another project over there. 00-01 water tree and lines. This will be compatible with your N block oil squirter ports without requiring custom bending any lines. Any RN p...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Wrapped up the work on the '97 T5 today. Got the replacement dash and console buttoned up https://turbochuckcom.ipage.com/webimages/projects/97%20Volvo%20854T5/2022/Winter%20Work%20Fun/dashdone.jpg Then I took it out for a short drive to make sure things are happy after the NA cam swap. https://turb...

Re: 96 R manual swap: the hard way?

You can disconnect the wiring harness at the ECU box. Remove the two engine side parts of the ECM/TCM connectors and undo the ground under the pass light. Then it's just remove the fan and FI relays, etc from the radiator shroud and pull it all with the engine/trans. https://turbochuckcom.ipage.com/...

Re: 2004 C70 cross brace removal

So does this mean there is no such thing as a longer bolt for the sub-frame brace? I will find out when I install mine, unfortunately not anytime soon :( .

The front bolts are longer. The brace is 20-25mmm thicker than the regular plates that are attached at the rear SF mount location.

Re: 855r no power at a26 and a27

The "23/0" is a factory wire splice. It's located in the plastic wire loom that runs across the front of the engine. Search Google for "1996 volvo 850 wiring diagrams pdf" (Or send me a message with an email) to see a better factory diagram, and also get locations of the splices,...

Re: 855r no power at a26 and a27

I sent you a link to the PDF.

You don't want to run 12V to BOTH of those locations on a switch.

Re: 94 T5, how does the door handle fit into the door lock mechanism?

I can't offer any hints, but I can confirm it is a PITA to get that all back together. I recently had to remove the handle from my wife's car to retrieve the remnants of the small spring for the key hole "flap" that had lodged itself in the bottom of the tumbler. I spent a good 30 minutes ...

Re: 98 S70 - starts up then dies immediately [ look over help needed, Indianapolis]

It kind of does sound like an ECT issue. Might also be a FP relay (which could be the buzzing you hear, as it's located right in front of the driver in the cowl) I don't know of any mechanics, as I do all of my own work, but where in Indy are you? I might be able to lend a hand, or at least put eyes...

Re: 98 S70 - starts up then dies immediately [ look over help needed, Indianapolis]

Sorry to say I do not have a spare fender, but I do know of a guy down near Louisville that might. He owns a huge Volvo salvage yard and had all the parts I needed after a fender bender I had last summer. abscate is just messing. I've been trying to find a fender since last April. Been a bit busy t...
