I've removed it on an S60R once, but it was a pain. Took a lot of prying to get it out of the block. Obviously yours should come out easier, being that you just installed it.
I don't think I've installed one with the engine in situ.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Thanks for the pics, bmdubya1198! How do we know how far to push in the pipe? Is there a ridge on the block after the o-ring to stop it, or a ridge on the pipe to catch on the block? Sveedy, is your engine installed or not, and are you approaching this from above or below? Maybe it's easier to leav...

Re: P80 P2 Coolant pipe o-ring & install 976045

Re: P80 P2 Coolant pipe o-ring & install 976045

Yeah, I would still recommend setting it to the marks. Keep in mind you'll also have to clean off the gasket from the pump, so you'll probably want the belt out of the way. Might not need to take it all the way off, but it's better to be safe and go ahead and set it to the alignment marks.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Parts or worth restoring? The headliner seems too tedious and then there's the actual damage. Tires alone worth the entire rig. 2006 Volvo XC90 AWD (Please Read) - $1,000 (Durham) "It has served me well for over 16 years until this weekend when the timing belt went and I had it towed to my mec...

Re: Protecting fuel lines from engine heat
I agree that it probably isn't necessary, however if you want to add some sort of shielding, I would probably use that reflective aluminum wrap, similar to what you see on AC and power steering lines.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Yup, hopefully it's the caliper and nothing upstream. That's when it can get exciting.
