Re: PSA: Doylestown, PA 1999 Volvo S70 AWD Runs/Drives Doomed for Scrap
How much of a pain is rear shocks/struts on an AWD vs. a FWD? Believe it or not, the rear shocks are easier on AWD than FWD. The only thing you'll need to keep in mind is that the rear end needs to be raised up pretty high, as the shock goes through the lower control arm. Otherwise, it's just the t...

850 Parts... lots of em!
I'm parting out my '95 850 GLT, unfortunately the engine has very low compression and I'm not fixing it. However there are lots of good parts available! Let me know what you need and I'll give you price and availability. So far the only things that have been spoken for are... pass. CV axle coolant r...

Re: 95 855T5 won't hold boost.
Just to backtrack a little bit... If Hilton is right, the error codes have nothing to do with it. The ECU is requesting that the TCV should be closed/closing, right? That means the ECU wants more PSI goodness, not less. So it's reading IAT values and whatnot, looking at FT and O2, and still request...

Re: 97 855R suspension: to renew nivomat or not?
I don't think there is any difference in the spring mounting. You can replace the spring perch or bump stop since it's likely worn out, but I don't think there's anything that NEEDS to be replaced. Take a look at this thread: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/topic/167617-delete-your-nivomat-rear-end-8...

Re: 99 s70 2.3T New Project Car
I would just do the normal checks for these cars, timing belt, PCV, etc. If the cam seals look suspect, replace them. And only run premium gas, lower octane fuel has been possibly linked to burnt valves. If you replace the calipers, I would definitely recommend new or resurfaced rotors, and of cours...

Re: '98 S70 is at 95k miles - what do I need to save up to fix next?
+1, if it hasn't been done before I would HIGHLY recommend taking care of that. Many people overlook the fact that on low mileage cars, parts still fail due to time. Timing belt should be replaced every 10 years regardless of mileage on low mileage cars.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
Probably, they break all the time!TheOtherside wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 11:31
The clips or tabs or whatever hold the corner lights on my 98 R must be broken, lol. They're flimsy and ones tapes on. Haha. I like the looks of yours!
What headlights do you have?
They're factory "jewel" headlights out of a 2004 C70.

Re: Rotor size question.
1998 R should have 280mm up front. I don't think the R got 302mm front rotors until 1999 or 2000.

Re: 2000 V70R Whining/Buzzing Noise in Engine Bay
Yeah, I'll have to poke around a little more and see if I can narrow it down.
But what's the point in describing problems if you can't throw some technical speak in there?
