Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)

Changed the passenger side engine mount on the '01 S60... the old one was pretty shot! I had to jack up the engine quite a bit to even get to the bottom bolt. I also picked up a 26 gallon Kobalt air compressor today... I love it! It powers my Earthquake XT stubby impact no problem, worked great to r...

Re: Wastegate flapper

I will take some pics. I jb welded it. The door fits in a bushing and the bushing moves up and down allowing it to leave a gap. I got the bushing to stop moving so now just the door moves. No more up and down. Just open and close. Uhhh... sounds to me like you're setting yourself up for boost issue...

Re: Volvo R Sport Parts Catalog 1979

Here are some pics of the catalog... it's late 90s it turns out! Fall '98 to winter '99 to be exact. Pretty cool to see the stuff that iPd carried the year I was born... now here I am with a collection of Volvos! I didn't take a picture of every page (left out some less interesting stuff... order fo...

Re: Miata humor

Miatas are cool, you can fit them in the back of a Volvo wagon for the trackdays  I can test this theory  I haven't ridden in or driven a convertible for decades. I think I like them. I can’t remember :?  I'm 6'2", when the top's down, I have a hard time focusing out ...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

Those 2JZs are fantastic engines, same goes for the UZ series V8s in the SUVs and the GS400/430. I haven't driven one, but I rode with my cousin when he test drove a couple GS300s when he was wanting to buy one. They're nice cars, and truly built to last. Can't go wrong with a late '90s-early 2000s ...

Re: Can a 5 bolt p80 REAR hub fit on the 93 850 4 bolt axle

It seems you're good to go then... grab a hub and give it a go! Wait, how do you get the brake over the hub? Or does the rear disc clear the hub? The rotor should go back on, the CB is the same. It'll probably even allow the guide pin to be installed, but the holes won't line up. The wheel will go o...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

I must say, that's outrageously priced for a non runner. $800 car max for that reason alone. I'd start by checking cam timing, make sure everything is lined up and the belt isn't slipping (possibly a failed tensioner?). Then move onto a compression test, if that shows low move to a leak down. Or it ...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

I completely agree! To crush a Volvo is a Cardinal Sin! My daughter is on my sh-t list right now... I can't believe that it's the same car I bought. So many dings, bug damage, ruined leather, spilled drinks just everywhere inside. When I picked it up she informed me it had a roach that made appeara...
