Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
There is also a small amount of power to the radio to keep the channel information. If you have a larger current loss, 2 of the more common issues are the glove box light not switching off (easily checked with a cell phone inside in video mode), or the tailgate area having a short in the harness fro...

Re: Cigar Lighter Relay Location, 1998 v70
That’s a main bus relay that powers many things. Don’t mess with it.
If you want the socket always powered, cut the wire to it and wire it direct to the battery with a 10-15 amp fuse
You run the risk of back feeding stuff of it isn’t wired directly and isolated.

Re: Best Place To Break Through The Engine Compartment Firewall
Dozens of holes. Especially the main engine harness, I would re-use those IF possible, they can be quite tight for obvious reasons.

Re: Best Place To Break Through The Engine Compartment Firewall
There is a pass through under the main fuse box into the under side of the dash by the relays. It's plugged with a rubber grommet with 3 nubs sticking out.

Re: Best Place To Break Through The Engine Compartment Firewall
No cap on the interior end. Just Take a wire and fish it through. It's quite easy you'll find.
When I was done running wires through mine, I left an extra wire loose in there for pulling any future wire(s).

Re: Solar Panel Battery Charging And Problems 1998 v70 mostly
tomvv11, Al has been down all those routes. It would appear from what he has told us the drain is in the 10-40? mA level. My car drains at the 45-50 mA level and after 2 weeks it is getting too low to start the car. I have checked the car out, the dealer has checked it out and all is normal other th...

Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix
From what I've seen it's something like a plastic peg.

Re: Best Place To Break Through The Engine Compartment Firewall
The interior cap had fallen off for me. The one in the engine bay popped off easy, but was a pain to get back on for some reason.

Re: Broken Gas Door Hinge Fix
Hello there, One of the gas station attendants banged on the gas door hatch and broke one of the pins that holds the hinge on the car body. It's not the hinge itself that broke, just the pin that holds it to the body of the car near the gas cap. Is that pin a rivet or a machine screw or something e...
