Re: Strange Voltage Problems

Have the battery bench tested. I'm getting the impression one cell is dead or it is not taking a charge.

Re: Volvo p80 a/c tutorial; includes o-ring specs

I cleaned it up with Adobe Acrobat pro and reduced the file size from 21Mb to 995Kb (1Mb) 95% reduction in size. Easier on bandwidth and the reader's computer resources.

Reduced size version attached.

Re: '98 V70 T5 Knocking sounds

Sounds like an exhaust leak.

Take one of them long plastic transmission funnels and use it as a ear trumpet. See if you can isolate where the sound is coming from.

Re: '08 Volvo V70 - Very loud high-pitched whine

To check the PCV, do a glove test. If the glove sucks down it is a pass. If it sticks up like a rooster's crown its a fail. Make sure you tie down the glove with a zip tie or rubber bands to insure the glove does not get sucked into the engine. [youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yEcJUi3sxE[/y...

Re: '98 V70 T5 Knocking sounds

"Could it be exhaust related that it expands possibly at the exhaust manifold?"

Yes it is possible. Build a smoke machine, blow smoke up it's waste pipe, see where the smoke comes out.

Re: Safe to Charge Battery Indoors?

Pure water is tasteless, it will not react with your taste buds at all. The drinking water bottlers add stuff back in after the water is purified to give it taste. If the water has any taste at all ,do not put it in your battery. If the water has no taste what so ever, it is the good stuff.

Rattnalle wrote: 11 Aug 2018, 01:22 Seriously though. A battery that had been properly flat won't ever be reliable again as a starter so just get a new one straight away.
I have brought starter batteries back from deep dead. It does take more time then most people can be without a battery.

Re: Timing jumped..is the engine destroyed?

It is spinning over ... that suggests it did not jump far enough out of time to cause interference. Correct the timing and then a compression test can rule out any bent valves.

Line up the Crankshaft marks first then align the cam marks. The crankshaft is the datum. Make sure you do the VVT preload.
