Re: 1998 V70 GLT 19T Build

It seems to be a tossup for '98s. Most people say their '98 has a hydraulic tensioner, but most that I've seen in person are mechanical Engine serial numbers up to and including 1266127: Hydraulic Tensioner. Engine serial numbers 1266128 and above: Mechanical Tensioner. You cannot switch from one t...

Check for intake manifold leaks when the engine is cold.

Re: Door chime all the time

Yes. Same result with key in or out of the ignition. I found it. The left front door switch grounds the Chime and activates it. The Chime get it's power from the ignition switch so it should turn off with the key removal. Looks like two of the contacts in the ignition switch are wielded together. Y...

Re: No Communications with REM, DIM, CCM, etc. I doubt it...

Everything to the right of the CEM is on the same CAN bus. I would start by: 1. Pulling and cleaning the connectors on the CEM. 2. Check for evidence of water ingress on the CEM. 3. Check for opens and shorts on the CAN bus. 4. A electrical defect in any of the modules can pull down the CAN bus and ...

Re: SOS - What would you do in my case/ on the fence?

A low Battery or noisy Alternator would trip lots of codes. Get Vida-DiCE setup, clear the DTCs, see what comes back.

Re: Car Died/Crank, No Start

Pull the timing belt cover off and take a good look at the timing belt tensioner. From your description it sounds like the tensioner may of broken/slipped allowing the timing belt to jump just enough to cause a no start condition but not enough to cause interference. Push on the timing belt. Does it...
