SOLVED.
Solution was found on the site here on a post by Tonyx back in 2013.
Just a bad connection of the green wire at the bottom of the starter solenoid.
Wooooohoooo!

It does come out Pull off the knobs Now release the Torx screws and the face plate releases The base part of the unit towards the FRONT of the car , clips into the dash and comes out backwards. Ill agree if its a bearing it isnt like any bearing failure Ive heard before.
Can you find a nice open country road where you can swerve back and forth at 45 mph or so and listen??

It has all the hallmarks of a bad bearing...
But the sound
. But maybe it's creating a harmonic with something like the brake dust shield.
That screams to me bad bearing. Been there, done that.Not occurring when turning the wheel to the right.

The battery is from 2015, so I was thinking to just replace that, but I'm not sure thats the only issue. If you do a lot of short trips ans/or do not drive the car much. The battery maybe Sulfated. Leave it on a float charger when the car is at home for the next 3 - 4 weeks. Also clean the battery ...

You could lug the battery out of the car and trickle charge it inside...

I would open the glove box and watch the light in there as I'm turning the start key. If the light dims way down in response to turning the key to start, you need a new battery. If the light stays bright while you turn the key to start (and no starter motor action), you need a new ignition switch.
