Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?
I mounted a phone holder to the passenger vent in the dash over the heater controls. But, I use the GPS and mapping in the phone so that is visible, reachable and a power cord down the the cigarette lighter is not an issue. Of course, the power cable also shares an adapter with the cable for my dash...

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?
. This LISEN has worked the best. After trying a variety of suction cup on windshield or stick on dash types with flex arms and various vent mounts, this has been the best overall. The magnet is very strong and the plate that attaches to the back of the phone is thin. The curved clip end around the ...

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?
Some times I open the ash tray (which has never been used as an ash tray) and set my phone in landscape. It rests quite comfortably there and you can still get a glimpse of Google maps.

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?
Whatever works best. The vents in my 850 at least are way to unstable to support a phone. Suction can work, I use an old navigon holder because they don't make them like they used to... as with cars.

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?
Mine goes on the passenger seat. seriously? my phone won't stay there for half a mile the way I drive. And then it's somewhere where I can't reach while driving. Back around 2000 they made these nice custom phone holders that would moint the phone next to the head unit, usually mounted on the outsi...

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?
Proclipusa used to make one that attached to the right side of the centered area. It wedged itself between the dash pad and the dashboard and did not block any vents. I don't see it available anymore. I used to have one years ago. Here are some pictures i stole from Google. BR.851936.jpg BR.851936-1...

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?
I use magnetic ones that clamps on the vents in all my cars, the V70 and the Subie have thick enough vents to support them. The 940 however has thin ones (similar to an 850iirc), which eventually broke off. To avoid breaking them again when I replaced the vent, i made a small 3d printed support to r...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Is that UHU Hart Plastik any good? Is it a weld type glue? I can't give you long term experience, but the repair piece I glued on the light last night was preeeeeetty solid on there and it was just two little glue blobs (to be able to get it off again). It contains Acetone, so if the plastic can be...

Re: Simple Volvo Tweeter Modification
Hi, thank you for this tip. indeed, sound is much clearer in my tweeters. Just for eventual readers of this subject (blogged on FCP): back D pillar tweeters on V70 or 850 estates are 4.7 uF, not 3.3 like front ones. You will need 2 of this one : MKS2B044701K00JSSD Front one IE number: MKS2B043301H00...

Re: Simple Volvo Tweeter Modification
The front speakers are 4ohm if I recall for both door and dash 'tweeters'. Rears are 8 ohm and run in parallel. Or the other way around! I don't remember! Dug out the thread. It is the other way around: The front speakers (door and dash) are 8 ohm, the rear door and rear window/tailgate area small s...
