Re: Rebuilding and painting my calipers
It's good timing that this topic got a post after nine months because the powder coating on my calipers was just completed! 1998 V70 Coolant Cap? Overheating? Something?
CORRECTION TO SOLUTION!!! The coolant cap was bad, BUT the real problem was that the coolant temperature sensor next to the thermostat was bad and reading low. NOTE #1: If you notice that your engine temp gauge usually reads exactly halfway up and suddenly stabilizes and indicates somewhat below hal...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Looking at the photo, the old plug gap appears twice the size of new gap. That could cause the misfires.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I cut a 1998 Volvo s70 ignition lock apart. In the small groove running around the lock body there is a steel ring and holding the ring in place is a tab that runs across the entire body of the lock, so once you get the end of the tab out of the way you can pull the steel ring out a little bit and ...

Re: Where to hook up smoke machine?
BlackBart, it's a Autoline Pro. I didn't buy the accessories, so far I've been able to use it without them. But, I think I would like to get the gas cap adapter so I can check for leaks there. https://www.autolinepro.com/ I've never used a smoke machine before, was too afraid to spray chemicals or u...

Re: 1999 V70 XC AWD starter replacement
I also had some trouble with this. Even when trying to remove the fan only, separate from its shroud, the turbo pipe was too much in the way. But I found that with the fan detached from the shroud, the shroud could easily be lifted out of the car leaving plenty of space to remove the fan afterwards ...
