Re: S80 T6 Engine destruction X2 Volvos are tough!

Cash For Clunkers was a program primed for abuse....money talks, when the Cat is not watching the mice. I agree totally! I have always felt the useable cars bought should have been given back to the people who desperately need a car for work. To destroy the car within 30 days didn't even allow the ...

Re: Windscreen Glass, Pilkington or PPG/PGW?

I figured out how to remove the rain-x, or whatever similar product the glass installer applied, or persistent oily slick from manufacturing without too much trouble. Like rain-x, going over it with alcohol just smears the stuff around after which it dries to a white haze you can't see through until...

I did pump it out this time as opposed to sucking it out of the top of the reservoir last time. It's more likely I got the old dirt out this way. The pictured bottle is flat ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!

That's the swedish countryside this time of year for you. Grey with red houses. What you can't see is the water in the air. How's this for scandi-noir? A few bends later these was a moose standing in the road. Big things up close. And just before was a badger. Just don't go in that red house down t...

I'll take Grizzlies any day over oversize lizards and fire ants, not to mention hordes of New Yorkers in FL

June would make it worth it, though.

Re: Gunk in the oil dipstick tube

Taking an extra hours drive each week just to boil the oil off doesn't make sense compared to just shortening the OCI a bit. Factor in wear on tyres, fuel etc and it just doesn't make sense. And the obvious: walk or ride a bike if it's so short the car doesn't even get warm. Cheaper and healthier fo...
