Re: 93 Volvo 850 MT Will opening rear brake line drain clutch reservoir?
You won't drain much, Jim. just put some tape or a rubber glove on it and you will be fine Or, if you don't want to mess with break fluid at all (except for a few drops) you do it the way I suggested (no fluid can escape the master cylinder when the break pedal is in 3/4 position).... See this illu...

Re: Airbag Expiration Response from Volvo
Volvo says; There is no need to have the air bags inspected as Volvo has extended the lifetime of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) components to be the same as the lifetime of the car. What's the life expectancy of a 850? Does this answer take into account that my 1997 850 might last until 20...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
Quick advice wanted: Road tripping with 326k km 2000 V70XC, girlfriend and tent from Netherlands to Sweden. Abs light came on twice in 3000km, went away when restarting. Suspected front sensors to be dirty: used lots of anti rust to get bolts loose during control arm replacement a few weeks back. W...

Re: Safety of S70 vs newer cars
Here's a video of a P80 vs new V70 crash test (the one June is mentioning a few post above). I think the old one stands up pretty well.... https://youtu.be/so2wJJPge88 According to a major swedish insurance company, investigating 170 000 accidents, the P80 is,still in 2017, 20-39% safer than the ave...

Re: 1999 S70NA rear spring choices 3546335 or 3546893
If you have a look at the PDF on top in this page;
http://www.proparts.se/sv/artiklar/chas ... index.html
You'll see that the first one you're suggesting is
12.50 * 126 * 385 mm
The second one;
12 * 126 * 392 mm

Advise. Do not buy cheap Chinese alternator....
Driving home from the Check republic to Norway my alternator stopped working. Luckily a Polish alternator expert had a new Bosch/Volvo OEM in stock. I replaced my original alternator with a cheap one since I couldn't find the spare part regulator to my original alternator during a vacation trip 4 ye...

Re: DIY: Flaring your Brake Lines
Nice work! Instead of letting brake fluid drip you can push down the brake pedal a few inches (preferably by a stick between the seat and the pedal). This will close the valve preventing any fluid from dripping.

Re: Why do you (still) drive a P80?
I bought my 855 7 years ago and there's no reason for me to sell it now. Especially not since it's worth a lot more to me than any possible buyer. I've maintained it like it was new. Oil change every 5000 miles, flushing auto fluid, always using electric heater during the winter, sendt it twice to p...
