How to get a 99+ center console working in a 98
So I took the time to de-pin the male connector to do some testing. I grabbed a very good wiring diagram for the 98, and a not so good one for 2000. I was able to get the front cigarette lighter and both heated seats working. Based on my diagrams and testing, the wire colors do match between 98 and ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Since the V70 is still out of commission pending a settlement from NTB... Been working on my "free" Subaru forester. I've already spent way more keeping this car on the road in the past 6 months than probably what I spent on the lifetime of my S70 (not counting oil and tires). I've ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Sad day today. I was hoping to go tomorrow to help my buddy salvage a steering rack for his 850 from one of the 00 V70R's in a local junkyard. He tested me tonight to say one of the cars has been pulled from the yard for crushing! Naturally the red one with the steering rack we were hoping for. For...

Re: Flex Pipe on Exhaust Manifold 1998 V70 Non-turbo question
The flex pipe probably cracked through at one of the webs. The braided outer sleeve makes finding the crack nearly impossible. You could cut off the flex pipe and weld in a replacement as long as the rest of the manifold isn't super rusty and you pay attention to the indexing. Though if the ProParts...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
why do folk rate those oetiker clamps? just seems daft to me that you have to use a special tool to fit or remove them when a good old fashioned jubilee clip does an excellent job and can be reused countless times should the need arise?we been using them since 1921 and still popular and even in sta...

Re: 98 S70 T5: Peculiar vacuum leak after engine swap
Try smoking the intake. A common mistake is when refitting the intake is to trap the hose clamp for the PCV hose between the RH end (when viewed from the front of the car) between the intake and gasket. You may not have done that but worth a check. Based on the general area of the issue, have you c...

Re: 98 S70 T5: Peculiar vacuum leak after engine swap
I've phoned 2 friends, had another friend look at it, and paid a mechanic to find the leak. Nothing a foul has turned up. I've taken the snorkel out and replumbed it several times now. Smoked the car dozens of times, even isolating individual hoses. I've tried running with the MAF and/or O2 sensors ...
