Re: Knee replacement surgery March 2024
The upshot of the surgery is generally excellent results and prognosis long term. Once she gets through the pain portion she will get the real benefits of having a new knee. My mom got the surgery last year at 81 and it has been a life changer, she was probably 6 months from a wheelchair and now she...

Re: 2007 XC70 - Cooling Fan whine, replacement options?
The options for replacement are expensive and probably the OEM one is the only good one. I would suggest removing yours and lubricating it. I did mine last year after listening to it whine for 7 years and its been silent ever since. Someone on this forum did a short writeup on how to do it, its pret...

Re: 2007 XC70 - Cooling Fan whine, replacement options?
Thank you both! Blacklab — I was thinking about pulling it and giving the bearings some fresh lube. I’ll do that. I don’t have any sewing oil but I’ll find something 😃 Jones — ah that $500 FCP aftermarket option is backordered. The fan will come on after a short drive to drop off my daughter at sch...

Re: Steering wheel swap 2003 XC70 Wood Wheel
Thank you, mine doesn't have DSTC, at least theres no button on the dash for it. Now I need to get into the wiring diagrams and see where the wires go to on my "3 wire" clock spring.

Re: Steering wheel swap 2003 XC70 Wood Wheel
Here’s the old and new bracket. The bracket is on permanent back order but basically if you have a pre-2005 vehicle and want to install a wood wheel, you need a bracket from a pre 2005 3 spoke wheel bracket PN 8626020. These are most easily found on a S60 which has a three spoke wheel, then your clo...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Nice job, reminds me of that TikTok trend: “ I know what’s wrong with it…….ain’t got no gas in it!” At least your whole weekend didn’t get sidelined with troubleshooting car issues.

Re: 2004 XC70 Drive Train Removal
Strike it gently with a brass drift several times at several locations in between the bolt holes. I’ll repeat, be gentle and persistent as. You don’t want to damage the CV joints inside. If you’ve soaked it with penetrating oil you just need to break the rust bond. The cv joint will probably come ap...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Thanks Blacklab467, the car is standard factory, the 4 wheel alignment I had done last year by the top specialist in Scotland set everything to factory spec. iPhone camera likes to skew the image That looks better, I know how you are with your cars and didn’t expect something like that to be less t...

Re: S60 06 side mirror glass adhesive
Just did this on the wife's 2014 XC60 passenger side. I used two part epoxy spread as thin as I could get away with.

Re: Any experience with this aftermarket IPD headlight?
I would stick with the OEM Valeo headlights, find a good set on Ebay or elsewhere from somewhere they don't use gravel on the roads which cause the glass headlights to pit. My concern on aftermarket glass headlights from Tiawan would be glass thickness and plastic quality, plus $182 is not an inexpe...
