Re: Hard start XC90 v8
https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=61996 , easy enough to guess it's the starter itself if the battery is good and all the electrical connections are clean and tight. Another link that might be relevant- https://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?562025-2011-V8-Slow-...

Re: Hard start XC90 v8
The starter could be a little weak, it's a common problem on these V8s. If it's running well otherwise, this is likely your issue. My starter is a little weak at times as well, especially when it's hot, but it always starts. When they test the starter, they're basically just testing to make sure it ...

Re: Hard start XC90 v8
I believe you need to remove a smaller coolant line or heater hose to access the starter on this engine. You may not need to drain it completely if you have some of those hose clamp-off pliers, but it will certainly help to minimize the mess. It's probably not too urgent as long as the starter isn't...

Re: Hard start XC90 v8
That's an alternator writeup. For the starter, I believe it's accessed from above. It's located below the throttle body, I think you need to remove a couple coolant lines and possible the throttle body to access it.

Re: Remove dents
Volvos are tough metal. My body man says they are the worst to work on because they are the best for safety. That said I think the solution would be paintless dent repair. Dropping the headliner should give access to the dented areas and a good PDR person can make those look pretty much like new. Be...

Re: Where is my coolant drain plug on XC90 ? V8
I just did new hoses and did not see anything but the normal drain, this is what I used before pulling the lower hose. It's under the big silver colored crossmember-

Re: Where is my coolant drain plug on XC90 ? V8
Need to undo this plug carefully - some owners tighten these too much and they are difficult to undo next time and may also break. I talk a little about this small plastic plug at 6:00 here www.youtube.com/watch?v=69ymGTqHxRw Basically, when screwing it back in place, you can just tighten it by hand...

Re: Coolant water pipe gasket
Just the gasket, PN 30720318. Bolts are M8, torque per VIDA is 24Nm (18 ft lb).
Post a photo of the o-ring if you get the chance, maybe someone can spot where it goes (if indeed it's for your vehicle).
