Re: Buyers Advice P2 vs P3
They had 3.2 replaced by the B5254T10/12 in the last couple of years for P3. I have T12 in wife's 2016 XC60, it is decent. Not as reliable as B5244S or even T2, though. Overall a short-term reliability would be probably higher, but long-term P3 rust way more and uses made in India SKF bearings every...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Ouch - sorry to hear that. Good info on VIDA. I need to figure out how too do this. I only have Macs and no laptop, so need to decide on buying an older used one. I have a Windows 10 laptop and actually run a virtual machine just for VIDA. I tried to run a VM on my Linux computer but couldn't it to...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I run VIDA natively on Windows 10. Took a little bit to make it work, but RickHaleParker's posts on here helped me get it going. If you want it to get a ready to go VIDA setup, check out Dave Leach. He sells laptops with VIDA all set up and ready to run. https://www.facebook.com/DaveLeachVIDALaptops...

Or...What did you screw up on your Volvo recently? So, this week I solved the Evaporative Emissions code I've been half-heartedly messing around with for a year. Replaced hose from purge valve to canister in front fender a long time back with cheap vinyl hose I had on hand. Bad decision. Hose held u...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Iinstalled new ball joints in steering knuckles on my '06 V70. Used 2" by 4" galvanized pipe with cap, worked perfect. About half dozen shots with a 5 lb. hammer and they were home.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I used 1/4" x 10" brass drift pin, using a carpenters hammer and alternating shots on each side. One small pocket on each side is about the only place there is to punch at. If you make some king of holding jig for a vise it would probably only take a couple of shots on each side, I didn't ...

Re: Could I break my transponder chip?
What kind of key do you have ? If it's the model with flip blade, the transponder is glued inside one of the plastic sections. In theory it's unlikely to break if the key is dropped - unless it's like thrown into a brick wall. However the way your key broke apart makes me think it's not an original ...

Re: HEAT!! (for your feet...and hands...in the garage)
You will never regret having heat in that space. Even sheets of the pink rigid board insulation between the rafters would make a big difference. As budget allows, do your garage door first, if it isn't already insulated. That thin metal does an excellent job of transferring heat outdoors & freez...
