Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

When I bought my '07 XC70 it had a slew of messages and the ABS light and DSTC light on, also the AWD didn't work. I had a suspicion that all were related and may be remedied by replacing the battery that was last new in 2017, the car had sat for a length of time before I bought it. It had an ANTI S...

Re: Installing a rear IPD sway bar ('04 XC70)

This is probably the easiest/ safest way to spread the control arm to reinstall the strut, it also works on the other side and for reinstalling new struts using the factory jack from the trunk. You can also use this method if you're working solo.

Re: Installing a rear IPD sway bar ('04 XC70)

Great documentation, thanks BB! I am interested - what motivated you to replace the sway bars? What's your impression of the ride now? I like the factory jack suggestion for lowering the control arms, hopefully I'll remember to try it next time I need to do P2 rear shocks. I was okay working solo by...

Re: Installing a rear IPD sway bar ('04 XC70)

I have a 4ft prybar bought from our equivalent of Harbor Freight called Princess Auto. By the time BlackLab247, the car owner Simon and I finished his rear suspension, the pry bar had an 'S' in the shaft that was not there when we started!

Cheap crap!

Re: Door locks quit, CEL came on, won’t start now.

the network was interripted and left the SRS code as a telltale.
Vida might spot the glitch, I think iot can monitor 6 paramters on the fly.

Re: Door locks quit, CEL came on, won’t start now.

So, related to the imobilizer? Did I bump the key fob wrong or something? I may go have it scanned and clear the airbag code, that’s random. It has a new steering wheel bag done at a dealer. Funny - there IS a dealer here where we’re visiting. They once gave my car a sideways look and said they cou...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Brodie is just back from his first big trip in the car. We have our grandchildren from London staying for the summer so we all ventured up to the highlands for a family gathering at my daughter's house. Brodie hadn't really done any car travelling except for a couple of short journeys locally and th...
