Re: What's the best option for getting a replacement key 2004 XC70?
I am going ahead with the hid the transponder chip thing before I lose my key. That way I can make hardware store copies. Just did this on Evita the S70 On ME7, I get one cycle of immobilizer fail when I start the car with the unchipped key. Start procedure is POS III - car starts, runs one second ...

Re: Start prevented try again, again
I've been slow charging it (2A) for today only but will try it for longer. At 2A it should take at least a week to fully charge from 0% SoC. The theoretical minimum time is 80 hours @2A for a 160 amp-hour battery but it never charges that quick. 2 amps * 80 hours = 160 amp - hours. 1. Connect batte...

Re: Engine System Service Urgent, from bad to worse
You need VIDA to reset the SRS - airbag light, happens when removing the climate controls w/o battery disconnect.
I assume you have tried the battery remove thing a second time, using the right procedure.

Re: Engine System Service Urgent, from bad to worse
As above, the SRS message is only because when the Climate control (CCM) was out with the battery still connected, the car network lost for a moment communication with the SRS system (all these are interconnected for some reason) and started to 'panic'. So no SRS functionality problem, only need to ...

Re: Engine System Service Urgent, from bad to worse
Consider the Autophix ES610 scan tool for SRS reset. This scan tool is only for Volvo cars, but will reset the SRS fault and others. It worked for me and much cheaper and easier than getting VIDA set up.

Re: Engine System Service Urgent, from bad to worse
Clear the code and see if it comes back. Changing accelerator position sensors works about 1 in 10000 occurrences

Re: Engine System Service Urgent, from bad to worse
My sister on my old 2002 XC70 had the accelerator position sensor issue, against my advice she changed the pedal assembly with no change. She used VIDA and followed the fault trace process and ended up with a relay as a potential cause. She swapped the relay from her donor XC90 (part number match) a...

Re: Engine System Service Urgent, from bad to worse
I am not very proficient in VIDA, but the software is very powerful and will provide the answers.- at least a fault trace path to go through. There are numerous videos on the internet - pick one that goes through the steps, it doesn't have to be for your problem, but it will show you how it works an...

Re: Engine System Service Urgent, from bad to worse
I don't have VIDA anymore so I cannot provide guidance on which relay you are looking for. Was it in the rear of the car or the front? There is suppose to be a relay there - so you may still need further testing. Maybe RickHaleParker will chime in and point you to the correct relay and its location....
