Relays are electromechanical switches. Heavy wires run from the 12 volt supply to the relay to the loads. Very little current is needed to turn the relay itself on and off. I have it now. I haven't used it much yet, but it definitely can do way more than a standard code reader. It sees pretty much what you all are seeing with the DICE/VIDA units, but it cannot do things like upload software to the car. I didn't even know my V70 had a door module, let alone two of them!...
