Thinking of buying an Estate 850 T5 R

Post by chrissugden »

Hi there,

I am in the process of buying a new family car, new to me anyway, and top of the list is an 850 T5 R as i have always liked the look of them ever since they were first on the scene. My question is can any of you guys give me a rough MPG that I could expect from one and also any major problems that I should be looking out for on one.

Many thanks

Chris

Since you called it an estate, I'll assume that you're on the other side of the pond. Seeing as how that is the case, I'd suppose that you'd want a measurement in imperial MPG or litres per 100 Km. I do mostly city driving and I average about 24 mpg if you're meausuring with imperial mpg or 11.78 l / 100 Km. These cars do very good w/ highway driving. On the highway, I can get about 38 imperial MPG or 6.2 l / 100 Km. If you want to save money, the Turbo or T-5 models have identical engines to the T-5R. The only difference on the T-5R is the ECU programming and a few mild cosmetic differences.
