I am replacing the front struts on my 1998 S70 T5. I am stuck getting the cross shaped retaing nut off. I have read where others have used a pipe wrench, but the nut is recessed in the strut mount and I cannot get a tool around it. Does anyone have a tip for me to get it loose?
thank you.

^^^ This page might be of some help to you. Otherwise, IPD sells a tool specifically for that cross-shaped nut.

If you have the spring compressed to 10.8" you should have no trouble accessing the X nut. I hope you are not trying to remove it without compressing the spring--a step that could prove fatal.
