Diagnostic codes 314 and 335

I brought my '96 850 in for service because I was noticing some "hesitation" when going over 60 mph, as well as when climbing hills with engine running at 2000 rpms. It feels like the brakes are being applied slightly, and it seems to be somewhat "rythmic." My Volvo service/dealer checked it out, and said they could not "reproduce" it. They did say that they were getting an O2 code [435] and some other codes they have never seen before. The other codes were: 314 and 335.

So I did a little checking online, and found this:

314: Camshaft position sensor signal missing or defective
335: Request for malfunction indicator lamp signal from auto transmission

I do not beleive the transmission fluid has ever been changed [70,000 mi]. So my questions are:

1. What's the matter with my car?
2. Why hasn't my Volvo service/dealer ever "seen" those codes before?

Hi Wilink, my chiltons manual that covers your model says that your 314 code is an ABS fault : wheel sensor signal RH rear wheel circuit fault. This is supposed to turn on your ABS and TRACS light. I have no record of a 335. This 314 fault seems to apply to your problem better than the faults you discovered on line. Hopefully its not too expensive to fix.
