Can anyone explain how difficult it is to change the seals on a 98 v70 t5 oil pan? Is there an upper and lower gasket.

OIL LEAK

Remove the plug cover (30mm torx) and check that the oil is on the top of the engine. Most likely the oil is originating from a dried out oil filler cap seal $3.00. Or the worst might be rear main seal $$$

Yes, oil cap gasket or turbo oil return line are very common leak points.

When we pulled the cover tocheck the spark plugs, there was indeed some oil in the head area, would this perhaps indicate that the seal for the oil cap does need replace and could this be the source of the leak. The leak is a droplet clinging to the pan and a droplet on the paper underneath.
