Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)

It does. All you need is a factory amp of your choice and the wiring harness for it. I used the 4x50 watt amp that mounts under the passenger seat. You just need to run the wiring up through the console to the radio and plug it all in. Pretty easy job. Do you know if the amp also works with 'normal...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)

Does the SC901 work in the 850s? I would rather like one but was under the impression it needed a bunch of additional pieces to get it working. Oh, and thanks for the brake line info!

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)

What size hoses do you need for the 302mm upgrade? Looking to do it on my 850 soon - especially since my insurer doesn't classify it as a modification. On the topic of insurance though, does anyone actually understand the thought process (or lack thereof) of insurers? Brake upgrade is totally fine a...

Re: POLL What octane gas is everyone using?

Swedish prices are generally very unrepresentative of costs throughout the rest of Europe though. It is really rather irritating going to Sweden to visit my partners parents and paying 40% more for the exact thing I bought just before flying out (water, food/beverages - its actually more like 60-70%...

Fenix can be read with VOL-FCR, which means a homebuilt flash code reader will also work. Pins are the same as for Mortobic 4.3 if I recall correctly.

Re: Restore car paint

Decontamination at a minimum would require a clay bar. To get a greater level of decontamination and to make claying easier a good fallout remover and a good tar and glue remover before the claying stage will be the best option. Regarding clear coating, yes, if you feather the edges of the clearcoat...

Re: Restore car paint

Wet sand to remove swirls is extremely unnecessary, wet sanding is a last ditch effort to remove orange peel or deep scratches. The whole point of paint correction is to use the least aggressive method possible. Jumping straight into the most aggressive is not good advice. Furthermore, removing wet-...

Re: 1999 S70 "AWD" Rescue Thread

It's not just you guys either, couple of the Ivy League unis have run psychological studies showing benefits of manuals - not just in reducing accidents due to being more engaging but also in (surprisingly) helping to control ADHD symptoms. Regarding pictures, definitely the emergency hood cable we'...

Re: 1999 S70 "AWD" Rescue Thread

Thread is fantastic, a lovely project with some great progress. I have to ask where on earth the pictures are though! There are several jobs you've attended that would no doubt of interest to others, for which some pictures highlighting the what and how would be useful. As for manual swapping it, I ...
