Re: Question about P2 Engine/Transaxle Mount Failure

Everybody- Thanks for the tips! I wanted to come back and tell y'all the solution. I finally got a chance to do some diagnostics yesterday and I could hear the sound apparently from the hub area. Turns out the front hub bolt was the issue. It didn't seem particularly loose, but tightening it stopped...

Re: Question about P2 Engine/Transaxle Mount Failure

Okay, thanks! I didn't realize there were bushings in there. I imagine they are there for more NVH reductions. *sigh*

Well, *somebody* bought it. At least according to the website. No idea how much of course.

Almost stripped collar sleeve can do that. Propeller shaft's front CV joint, too.
Oops! It's front wheel drive, so no collar sleeve. I should definitely check the front CV though. Thanks!

Re: Question about P2 Engine/Transaxle Mount Failure

My 2004 P2 it was the subframe bushings. Absolutely drove me crazy enough to replace every suspension part to no avail. Then the rear main seal sprung a leak and I insisted the subframe bushings were to be replaced since the frame was on the ground. To my surprise it cured the problem. So if everyt...

Re: Question about P2 Engine/Transaxle Mount Failure

So, MDK here. Those other 2 I call acorn's. That's what they look like.. big acorn's. 2 me it sounds like sway bar bushings or maybe lower control arm bushings. Have you ever replaced the upper spring seats? Those make a poping noise. Usually the acorn's leak fluid.. The upper spring seats look ok ...

Re: Steps on how to install killswitch for 01 v70

What abscate said! If you're wanting this for security purposes, you'll want the switch to interrupt a ground, not one that carries power. The latter is more likely to burn, pit, corrode and otherwise die.I've not done it on a modern car, though, so I can't offer specifics just the theory.

Re: Another Solution for P2 Inside Door Handle breaking

Good point. It would be a lot easier to remove the door panel without the epoxy! :-D

Question about P2 Engine/Transaxle Mount Failure

Folks, Okay, so here's the deal- when I am driving, and let off on the gas, or (sometimes) accelerate, the V70 makes a popping or "clunk" sound. The sound comes from the front right side of the car (as seen from inside the car). We can replicate the sound while sitting by shifting back and forth int...

Another Solution for P2 Inside Door Handle breaking

Hey folks, Got a solution to share. The V70's inside driver's door broke a while back. I scoured the web looking for ideas, found a few, and got started trying to make something work. Apparently mine had been "fixed" once before, as a piece of wood and a large binder clip fell out when we got the do...
