Re: service light on 98 V70 - ODB2?

That's what I figured; I just wanted to make sure the guy with the 98 wagon knew that his car and only his car wasn't the only year getting the shaft with the service reset light.

Re: service light on 98 V70 - ODB2?

No doubt! I laughed to myself when the light went out about 15 seconds after I hooked up to the OBDII. In fact, it makes me so happy I feel like going around to other 96 850 owners to ask if they need their service lights reset!

Re: service light on 98 V70 - ODB2?

"Unfortunately, the 98 and only the 98 is unique and has to be done by the dealer or a special reset tool." I don't know how to paste prior posts, but I am pretty sure the 96 and maybe 97 have to be reset by the dealer. I know for a fact my car (96 Turbo Wagon) has to be reset by the deale...

Re: service light on 98 V70 - ODB2?

I wanted to let everyone know that my 96 850 Turbo Wagon's perpetually annoying Service light, that the dealer charges to reset........will reset using the SIR V 2000, an item I just bought from FCP Groton for $169. Yes a lot of money, but I don't have to grovel with the dealer for help.

Re: 96 850 turbo wagon, hard to start after fill up

I've filled up a couple times since this post. Ive been letting the filler stop when it senses full, still tough to start after fill up , but doesnt seem to be as bad. I read something from someone that hinted the problem may be a purge valve. Any thoughts?

Re: 96 850 turbo wagon, hard to start after fill up

I'll have to say that Lee's theory is preferrable to any maintenance. I'll try not gorging the tank first. I suspect that may be the case; I currently drive about 1200 miles round trip from South Florida to the Florida Panhandle about every 8 days, and try to get as much gas in as possible. But I gu...

96 850 turbo wagon, hard to start after fill up

Car is hard to start after a fill up with the engine shutdown. I can start it by kicking the throttle a little, then it coughs, idles rough for a couple seconds then runs fine. If I fill up with the engine idling it will keep running unless I fill up too much (after the auto shutoff) then it will he...

Went to a cylinder head shop. The guy said to spray some liquid wrench down there at night, let it sit until the morning to ensure the engine is cold, not just cool. I backed the plug out until the resistance I felt before and then a little more. Sprayed a little more LW, tightend it back, let it si...
