Updates: 1) I sealed off the heater core with foil tape and that seems to have solved that problem. 2) I did a dye test on the AC system and didn't see any leaks, but I am thinking it might be in the evaporator. I filled it up and have been running it daily since then (Saturday) and it still seems t...

Thank you SO much! This solved my issue as well. My V70 is on it's second heater-core (265k and counting). I've had the car just over 2 years now and that warm breeze really bugged me...

No, it was uniform prior to the heater core replacement.

It's not holding a charge for sure, I've checked with gauges and did a refill just to be sure.

Okay, it looks like I didn't look hard enough - the hot air on the driver's side footwell could be this:
