Re: 1984 245 wagon

I'm trying to do this in my '84 sedan. I think you have to buy all the single gauge trim pieces individually. https://www.ipdusa.com/Catalog/Index Then buy all the rubber foot mounts for your gauges. https://www.ipdusa.com/products/16568/Rubber-Mounting-Foot-240-Genuine-Volvo-1259737. The last thing...

Do a system update for the entire cpu, then use the Vida all-in-one icon located on your desktop.

Re: shock absorber support plate

Interesting. I commend you on completing the repair.

I'd give that job an 8/10 on difficulty in a shop environment, 10/10 if you don't have a lift.

Re: Looking for 1985 240 Ignition lock set

So, it looks like Chuck W. Gots what Byron needs.

I know that I've swapped the entire ignition/steering column bracket from one year to another before....

Aren't all 240s compatible in this way?

Re: Looking for 1985 240 Ignition lock set

I have an '85 244 parts car. It may still have all the components seen in the photo that was posted by Chuck W.

Next week I'll be able to look around and see if I can find it. I'll report back on my findings.

That being said,I'd think that you'd have a lot of interchange year options on this part.

Re: A easier way to replace transmission fluid

I can appreciate the calories burnt here on this project, but I think the oil pump in the trans works just fine in regard to dispensing of the old trans fluid. When done properly, you remove all old fluid with minimal mixture of the new fluid coming in. All it requires is a salvage yard run and remo...

Re: shock absorber support plate

I'm not sure why the rear strut tower would've been tampered with during an alignment. There would be no reason for a technician to mess with it. The rear suspension arm stay has an eccentric bolt that is adjustable, but that's the only rear alignment adjustment that can be done on this vehicle. The...

Thanks for sharing this information, cyrpobooja. I never would've figured that out in a million years.
