Re: Winter Mode

Quick bit of research says your problem may lay in the GSM (Gear Selector Module).

Module responsible for the Geartronic feature, winter mode, and "others".

I'd say pull that fuse for now, but the "others" scare me.

Re: Dead Ecm. 2001 V-70 X/C.

I've cleared the codes several times, and they come back immediately.

No, I didn't bother checking resistance in any of the components. I suppose I can do that.

I'll talk to Yagger. Thank you.

Re: Winter Mode

Could be that some spilled coffee or some such liquid has mucked up the switch. I'd pull the unit, gently blast all the contacts with keyboard duster and a soft bristle brush. After that, spray it with electrical cleaner, hang and allow to drip dry, in front of a fan. I've had that sequence cure man...

Re: V70XC 2001with ECM-1600, ECM-170F and ECM-3000 errors

Ecm 1600- boost sensor fault
Ecm 170F- ⬆️

Ecm 3000- Camshaft position sensor.

I see you got no response in 2 ½ years. What happened? Issue resolved?

Dead Ecm. 2001 V-70 X/C.

Hello There, 2001 Volvo V70 XC AWD L5-2.4L Turbo VIN YV1SZ58D111014658 B5244T3 During a PCV job today, I failed to disable the car battery. With the cooling fan, and intake manifold removed; I knocked my ratchet off the core support, and into the engine bay. It created a bridge between the alternato...

Re: ETM Happily Ever After

Hey, guys. Thanks for the replies. The donor vehicle's age is unknown. It's a good question, and one I pondered, but had no immediate way of knowing. I'll be going back to that salvage yard this week, so I'll see if I can get the mileage number one way or another. Though I have most of the repair re...

Re: 2001 S-80; 2001 XC-70 Body/Door Interchange

I don't know... The rear doors look like they're exactly the same as well. Here's a photo of the junkyard S-80's door on my XC-70. P-2 S-80 Sedan Doors (front, and rear) are compatible with P-2 XC 70 Wagons. Correction, the rear doors are NOT the same on the S60/S80 vs V70/XC70. Good to edit the com...
