A bad cooling temp sensor doesnt always produce a code or CEL. In my case a couple of weeks ago never did it produce either.

Thats funny, this literally happened to me last night. Check the wiring going to the headlight, mine are green I think....Mine are cracked to the bare wire all the way back to the harness. The wire insulation must dry out and w/ the colder temps I bet more bare wire is opened up through thermal cont...

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! When I opened up the thermostat I found that the thermostat had popped and stuck open. I replaced the thermostat and the cooling water temp sensor and hooked it all up. The temp gauge worked as normal and car surging has vanished! So if your car is SURGING; not just stalling, it ca...

I'm really glad someone agrees w/ me. I will change the thermostat w/ the sensor. Do you guys recommend OEM or do you think aftermarket aka auto zone/advance auto would be okay for the thermostat?

alright guys here's the deal...I am inclined to believe the original stalling and erratic temp gauge problem has somehow morphed into the surge problem and this is why; The car only surges when the temp gauge jumps around erratically and never heats up. This morning I drove the car to school b/c it ...

the stoichiometric ideal ratio comes to mind....15:1. The knock sensor is one of the policemen that keep it around there, including the MAF and O2 sensor. if you aren't running higher compression than 10:1 I wouldn't worry about premium....we just did a lab where using premium gas in an 8:1 compress...

well, replaced the cap, plugs, wires, and still the same thing. I've been thinking the PCV is clogged up...I did the vacuum test over the oil dipstick, and revved it, no vacuum....EVER! Would this cause the surge problem? I don't understand the theory behind an idle surge and crankcase pressure. Any...

94 850 turbo erratic idle surge

Problem: Car will intermittently and with no warning surge up to about 4K RPM and sometimes come back to normal idle or hang at 4K rpm until I shut it off. If I have to shut it off, the car will only crank, and then it floods itself out. Then if I let it sit for about 15 minutes it will crank up and...
