Re: PLEASE HELP! Even the dealer can't diagnose it!

It may be too late but my daughters 03 had exactly the same problems and after similar "dealer maintanence" to the tune of 650.00 it turned out to be a battery enven though the car had no symptoms of a weak or bad battery. Good luck.

Brake pads

I need a recomondation for "soft" brake pads. My daughter is always complaining about the inital bite during braking. I think it's because she does not get enough heat in the semi metalic pads (Wagner Thermo-Quite and Power Slot rotoers). I don't have the problem because, I think, I drive ...

independent service

Good morning. I was wondering if anyone can recommend an independent garage in the Clemson/Anderson area of SC. My daughter is looking for some place mainly to change oil etc. on her S40. I guess a couple of places she stopped at didn't know that Volvo uses a paper oil filter and so she is still loo...

Pads are new and appears rotors are new. There is no spongieness in the pedal, it just has long travel before it engages. When the brakes are engaged the pedal is plenty off the floor. Just wondering about shortening up the initial tip in.

S60 brake pedal travel

Good morning all. I recently picked up a 02 s60 non turbo w/162,000 mi. on it. The car runs great, just need to do trans flush. My 1 question right now is the amount of brake pedal travel. The brakes work great but the travel seems excessive. On my F150 I adjusted the rod from the power booster to t...

1996 850 GLT /2001 V70

Good morning all. I currently have an S40 (2003) and I'm looking at a 1996 850 wagon, 5 speed w/78,000mi. and a 2001 V70 auto w/106,000 mi. My questions are what to look for. Are there major problem areas with either. The '96 is a 1 owner and very clean but I don't know anything about them. I thank ...

starting/transmission problem

Good morning. I have a 2003 s40/1.9 65,000mi USA that has 2 problems. 1st is a starting problem in that the car looses fuel pressure over night. I changed the fuel filter about 2 months ago and it was fine until the kid went off to school and thecar sits unused for the week.( I use my truck during t...
