2000 c70 roof closing issues
ive been googling and reading for days and can't find much of anything that can help. I have vida. On my 2000 c70 soft top, the roof wil retract, usually it takes about four presses of the button to complete the process. The first few just roll the side windows down bit by bit, which is strange. Onc...

Re: Timing woes
Thinking out loud: PO had this engine out. In fact it was a replacement. Is it possible he didn't mount the flywheel properly, as in off by 1 bolt and a s a result it's actually the crank sensor that is giving an incorrect reference point? So that physically pistons to valves reads 30 degrees off bu...

Re: Timing woes
I've got in in time according to vida. It starts around 7degrees codes reset. It settles.in nicely to 2 or 3 degrees. Visuelly my exhaust cam is retarded bij a tooth and a half to get here. The idle is choppy. I even took the vvt off today to fully reset al previous work done by others. I ended up w...

I've done a lot of timing belts. Never have I had such a pita
Redid the vvt, everything to spec. Flank angle is 30 degrees off.
I'm about to burn this thing to the ground.

Re: Timing woes
Good morning I have the exhaust cam angle fully in spec, although it goes high after clearing the code. It's correcting but not liking that is seeing about 14 degrees at startup. So it still throws a code What worried me most is that it now idles rough. Revs up fine. Idles horribly. Adjusting the ti...

Re: Timing woes
Thanks everyone Went at it again this morning. Only had two hours. Locked the cams. Fine tuned adjustment on the intake cam (no Vvt) it was a quarter tooth off. The using Vida checked the exhaust cam flank angles. With the pulleys aligned properly it was reading about 40*!!! So, I went about setting...

Timing woes
I've read what seems like all the posts. I've watched all the videos. I've done at least 50 timing belts in my life. I cannot for the life of me get my 2001 2.4t to not throw p00016 cam/crank position error. Previous owner did a head gasket 20k km's ago. Check engine been on since I bought it. He co...
