My 1986 240 has a great body. The only blemishes are on the fenders where there is rust, shoddy repair attempts and off-colour spray paint. Much of this is within 2" along the edge of the fenders.
I'm looking into trim or cover-up.
Most of the flare kits I've seen don't cover any of the existing ...

Re: 240 - New oil leak. With pics
Thanks for chiming in. It's definitely oil. It seems to be coming up from the thing just to the left of the blue spark plug wires.

240 - New oil leak. With pics
been loving my new 240. I am a converted Volvo enthusiast. I fixed a few things already and just noticed a new oil leak. It seems to be dripping a bit and I'm not sure what this part is. Check out the photos. What could this be?

Passenger door leaking oil
My 1986 240 is leaking oil from the bottom of the car under the front passenger door!
History: I just repaired a major oil leak from oil spraying out the rear cam shaft because the seal blew out. It probably sprayed out a few litres of oil in total against the firewall. Perhaps this is why it's ...

New to me 240
Just bought a beauty of a 240 for $600. Near mint interior and the exterior is amazing considering it's a 1986 model. It was sqewing out oil from the rear camshaft area because the seal popped off. So I cleaned the flame trap, oil thing it's attached to and the hoses. Put in a new rear cam seal ...

Re: Bought first Volvo. Major issues!
Think about what you need from this car.
If you want to try flip for profit, stop now and run away.
If you want 5 years/50k more miles and are willing to wrench yourself, you can do it on that 2k budget.
There isnt a new car today that will get you 50k of transport cost for 2350 dollars

Bought first Volvo. Major issues!
Hi all,
I really wanted a Volvo, so I bought one. Paid $350 for a 1999 S70 (no turbo) that had been sitting for a year. Was only able to test drive it in the parking lot. Changed plugs, topped up fluids and drove home. Couldn't get it above 70km/h and it accelerated very slow. Couldn't get out of ...
