Re: Intermittent loss of power
Yes, I have Vida 2014d and a DiCE unit, but there are no codes relevant to this issue. Only a couple of codes concerning the alarm battery and the driver's side reaview mirror sending the wrong signal.

Re: Intermittent loss of power
So... after 3 years I am still experiencing this issue with loss of power... In the meantime, I have had a few more things fixed, including cylinder head gasket, heater core, water pup and timing belt, de-clogging of oil pan, coolant temperature sensor, air temperature sensor, turbo membrane was che...

Re: Intermittent loss of power
I don't know. I hope you're right. When this started I was also assured the 'only thing' it could be was the PCV hoses and oil trap... And yet that did not work. What if some gunk got back into the PCV pipes right after I changed them?
I still find it strange since the car runs fine at higher speeds.

Re: Intermittent loss of power
It's a bit of a pain, but manageable with the right tools, some tricky ass bolts in there, but at least you don't have to take half the car apart to get it out. You absolutely do not need to mess with the timing belt at all that I can remember, only the engine mount so you can reach a couple of bol...

Re: Intermittent loss of power
I was searching for a video on how to remove. Only found one with an s60, and they removed front tyre, timing belt, engine mount...
I'd rather not mess with the timing belt right now.
Things were so much easier when I had a 1979 mini.

Re: Intermittent loss of power
Thanks. You could be right. I did not drop the oil pan. It's a bit too much for me right now. I don't have a proper place to do these things and have been doing them in the street in front of my house (which also means, whatever I start, I have to finish the same day, and once all my tools are out o...

Re: Intermittent loss of power
Are the compression numbers something that will show up on Volvo Vida (+ DiCE)?

Re: Intermittent loss of power
If the PCV system is in good working condition and you are still getting excessive crankcase pressure at idle. It indicates higher then normal blow-by (Gases getting past the piston rings) . Can you get a Borescope and look at the pistons and cylinder walls? I suppose I could get a Borescope, they ...

Re: Intermittent loss of power
Never mind the Banjo bolt did not come out until 2002. Did you clean out both ports from the Oil trap to the Crankcase? It has a banjo bolt. (the one that connects the thicker pipe to the right side of the engine) Am I correct in assuming the fact that the dipstick gets pushed out releases the pres...

Re: Intermittent loss of power
Ah, the bolts with holes in them. Well they came new with the pcv kit I bought.
