Re: 02 s40 long crank for start, now no start.

Hey, haven’t been on this site for a while. Have you checked your up and down stream O2 sensors? Sometimes those will make your fuel trim a bit off. I’m having almost the same problem as you but just an acute long start otherwise idles fine. Those codes would tell me that you have a vacuum leak some...

Re: Radiator fan stays off

 Hello, Ill start by stating I am the Green one! I am trying to locate a similar problem. Did you try to see if the fans work with direct connection and if not try that to see if the fans are working or not. Otherwise if you tried the relays and fuses then there could also be a faulty water...

Re: 2001 S40 Turbo blown Fuse

I would like to re-open this issue as I have just had the problem re-surface. Although I have been driving the car for about two weeks since this issue occurred. I had to take care of some other issues regarding the drive train and had to await parts. I replaced the Left and right drive Axles as the...

Re: Clacking sound below instrument panel

Sorry mate, haven't had the pleasure of that type of problem. Only thing that comes to mind is a speedo cable coming loose but you said it doesn't happen when on smooth surfaces. Has any work been done under the dash like stereo or radio repair or replacement that might have been left loose? Any kin...

Re: 03 S40 weird problems

Okay let me know if it helps. I may be on the wrong track but if it helps I want to know. Just to let you know I am not a professional, shade tree mechanic. Thanks

Re: 2001 S40 Turbo blown Fuse

I decided to try another relay in the slot for the sensor relay and found that even though the relay was working and showed at least 78 Ohms on the control side and a battery test closed the circuit. I tested the Ohms on the power side and there was no resistance but the terminals seem loose. I trie...

Re: 03 S40 weird problems

I had a similar problem with my '01 S40 and it was my O2 sensors. I just took them both out and blew them with compressed air and carb cleaner re installed and worked fine after that. Are you getting a check engine light? if so, download and see what code you are getting. If you dont have a reader g...

Re: 2001 S40 Turbo blown Fuse

Okay I am still having an issue with this above problem. I have a wiring diagram now and have tested all the sensors that this fuse goes to and all seem to be fine. However, I would like to trace the short if there is one but I am not able to as the relay shuts down after I turn the key on and the r...

2001 S40 Turbo blown Fuse

I have a fuse that is blown on the Sensor section of the engine fuse box. Using a test light I am not getting power to either side of the fuse which leads me to believe that the relay is stuck open? I do not have access to wiring diagram good enough to show where the wires go from the fuse bo...
