Re: 2000 V70XC - P0014 "Camshaft Position 'B' - Timing Over-Advanced (Bank 1)"
I'm just trying to fully understand the procedure: 1) Line up the timing marks 2) Rotate the crankshaft 90 degrees clockwise and then back counterclockwise until the timing marks line up again. ***I think this is the step I missed*** 2) Loosen the tensioner and remove the timing belt. 3) Using the C...

I have two V70s both with P0442
I realize this has been posted on but I can't help believe that there is a specific design flaw. I have had my 1998 V70 AWD for years and ever since I can remember it has given me the P0442 code (small EVAP leak). The code is given/CEL comes on after driving for 10 or so minutes, stopping at a stop ...

Re: 2000 V70XC - P0014 "Camshaft Position 'B' - Timing Over-Advanced (Bank 1)"
Honestly I'm not sure if I did. I set the timing marks and then rotated the crankshaft clockwise two full revolution to make sure the timing marks were lined up each time revolution, which they were. What did I miss? At which point are you rotating 1/2 turn clockwise and then back to line up the tim...

2000 V70XC - P0014 "Camshaft Position 'B' - Timing Over-Advanced (Bank 1)"
I am getting code P0014 "Camshaft Position 'B' - Timing Over-Advanced (Bank 1)" and for the life of me, can't figure it out. I changed the VVT solenoid to a known good solenoid, check the solenoid outside the car and confirmed that it was working, set the timing with the alignment tool and...

Re: Turbo Replacement Help
Thank you RickHaleParker. I actually read that thread last night, but I didn't see that it answered my question about accidentally getting the wrong wastegate actuator or bypass valve. My thought is, "if it fits, it's the correct one". I guess my question stated another way is, "are a...

Turbo Replacement Help
Please forgive me if this question has been asked before, and if so, please direct me to it. I have a 1998 V70 AWD with 182,000 miles on it which is spewing oil from the turbo like it's cool. I loose about a quart every 100 miles. I have in mind to replace the turbo but I don't want to spend more th...
